Differences Between the 9 Fruits and the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Being Christians, one of the most incredible stuff that can happen to all of us if we receive Jesus as our personal Lord as well as Savior is that we'll get to receive the Holy Spirit Himself. And we get to have the Holy Spirit immediately with our conversions with the Lord, and not at some point later.
As soon as we have the Holy Spirit, He will then come to stay in our human spirits, where from there, He will then start to work very closely with us so we can all entirely accomplish exactly what God the Father will want for us to accomplish for Him while down here on this earth.
God has got a set, divine destiny for every individual's life, and its the task of the Holy Spirit Himself in helping us meet that divine destiny for the Lord when we journey through this wordly life. This is why the Bible calls the Holy Spirit the Helper, given that His job is to guide us in every area where we'll need His immediate help on in this life.
In addition to the Holy Spirit having the ability to guide us accomplish our divine destinies for the Lord, we will also get two more wonderful things with Him once we accept Him in our human spirits. The Bible tells us how the Holy Spirit can unleash 9 incredible gifts to us, together with 9 incredible fruits within our personalities.
The 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit are the following:
Love Joy Peace Longsuffering Kindness Goodness Faithfulness Gentleness Self-control
The 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit are the following:
The Word of Knowledge The Word of Wisdom The Gift of Prophecy The Gift of Faith The Gifts of Healings The Working of Miracles The Discerning of Spirits Different Kinds of Tongues The Interpretation of Tongues
The key differences between both are that the 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit are for the purpose of our praise in the Lord. God's greatest and highest desire for all of us is our sanctification in Him. He wants to have us more holy like Himself. He truly wants to turn us into the precise image of His Son Jesus Christ. He would like to bless and set us apart to Himself.
These 9 certain fruits are character attributes comes directly from the Lord Himself. These will be His direct personality qualities, and not ours. This is going to be God's peace, love, and joy that will start to run through us once the Holy Spirit starts to release as well as transmit these fruits within our individualities. Therefore, each believer must ask God to begin to work these divine qualities into their personalities and so we can all be a little more Christ-like in our words, actions, and habits.
The 9 gifts are direct manifestations that we can also receive from the Holy Spirit, but much of these gifts are going to be used to help other people out. The 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit are intended more for our own sanctification in the Lord, but the 9 gifts are important power gifts which you can use to help others out in their time of necessity.
All of us needs words of knowledge and wisdom from the Lord from time to time through other believers. God will use these kinds of gifts to further build us up and to help establish what He has already told us.
We also require the gift of healing to manifest at times so people can be well again and stay on their divine destinies for the Lord. The gift of the discerning of spirits may be used to help someone out who have demons attached to them. The gift of tongues may be used to pray to the Lord when we don't know how to pray regarding something specific.
Overall, each and every believer should ask the Lord in deep, heart-felt prayer to unlock both 9 fruits along with the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit to their lives, because we all need them to turn out to be the type of holy person God is wanting us to become in Him, together with needing them to completely achieve all of our divine destinies for Him while we live through this worldly life.
